HOPE Helps, Inc., a local non-profit with a mission to alleviate hunger and homelessness in Seminole County is seeking a qualified part-time candidate to maintain HOPE’s operation of the IT Department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. This self-starter individual has a thorough understanding of Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT hardware infrastructure and will plan, coordinate, direct, and implement IT-related activities of the organization, as well as provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities. 

  • Candidate must have knowledge in Network cabling, routers, switches, and wireless access points; Server(s) and Network storage devices; Desktop and laptop computers; mobile devices; Printers and Fax machines.
  • Installation, maintenance, and upgrades of desktop and server Application and Operating System software. Familiarity with Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 10, Windows Server 2012) and Office applications is essential.
  • Management of HOPE computer/network user accounts and permissions to include HOPE email accounts
  • Provide IT-related training to HOPE staff and volunteers and research current trends and provide information, recommendations and quotes for upgrades
  • Technical oversight of Point of Sale hardware and software for thrift store.
  • Oversee the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages, as well as training as required.
  • Data analysis and management to include: Oversight of primary databases-: HMIS (Homeless Management Information System), Donor and Volunteer management databases, Provide Reporting and data analysis support to the Executive Director and key staff as needed for routine operations, grant opportunities, and Year-end Activities
  • Responsible for the procurement, inventorying, and disposition of hardware and software as well as, provide guidance and oversight for the assessment and disposition of donated IT equipment and software
  • Regularly monitor all IT assets to identify and avert attacks by malicious (virus, Trojans, mal-ware) software.
  • Develop, review, and certify all back-up and disaster recovery procedures and plans
  • Hours are part time- 20 hours a week
  • Minimum of a four year degree from an accredited college or university in computer sciences, business administration, public administration, mathematics or related field and at least five years’ experience in technical operations and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Broad knowledge of information technology processing systems, concepts, and methodologies. Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies. Microsoft or other professional/technical certification desired.
