an outreach of HOPE's Food Pantry
HOPE is blessed to be supported by two Community Gardens. First United Methodist Church (FUMCO) and St. Albans, both located in Oviedo, provide fresh vegetables to HOPE's Community Food Pantry throughout the year. HOPE's clients are now receiving healthy eating options, in addition to the non-perishable items that is given through HOPE's food pantry each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
In 2012, HOPE received it's first Agricultural Grant, which allowed the gardens to expand and provide more wonderful healthy veggies to our clients. We have received, tomatoes, peas, green beans, collards, kale, squash, zucchini, and this year the crop also includes watermelon and corn!
HOPE's Community Food Pantry is currently serving 280 families per week, which equates to over 600 individuals in our community. This does not include the number of children registered through our Kids of HOPE program.
