Village of HOPE
For almost four years, HOPE has been providing services for families in crisis in your community. We’ve grown from a small staff and handful of volunteers, to a staff of 15 and hundreds of volunteers who donate their time in various ways. We meet with clients in our Resource Center and hear their stories of despair, and work with each individually to formulate a plan to bring them to self-sufficiency. We do this through working in partnership with other agencies, businesses and our Church Coalition (OneBody). However, with this growth, we are increasingly struggling with a lack of resources/space to better serve our clients. We currently run our Thrift Store, Food Pantry and Resource Center from a small 4,000 sq. ft. space in Oviedo. Our vision, to better serve our families in need, is what we call… “The Village of HOPE”
The Village of HOPE is a place where families in crisis can gain access to all services and programs at one location in order to assist them on their journey to self sufficiency. The first phase of services and programs would include emergent needs such as food and clothing. of HOPE’s Resource Center would offer the next phase of intensive case management to assist clients through, not only their immediate crisis, but also provide guidance and personalized program to continue on the path to self sufficiency.
By facilitating training programs, our clients will receive the skills they need to attain good paying jobs, enabling them to break out of the cycle of poverty and/or homelessness. In order to establish and deliver these programs we have been networking and collaborating extensively with local businesses, service providers, organizations, community colleges and Universities throughout Central Florida. We also utilize professional volunteers that can offer training courses in their specific areas of expertise in order to expand our training offering.
We will continually develop partnerships with other service agencies in the county to enable us meet the needs of our families more effectively. Our goal is to focus on prevention and promote accountability so individuals and families can become independent of the system and move on with their lives.

HOPE'S Community Thrift Store
HOPE's Community Thrift Store enables us to meet the needs of the community in many ways. Our store is blessed with many quality donations from the community. Our customers come to our store to find amazing bargains and in the process, support our ministry. If we have a family in crisis, we can provide them with everything to make their situation bearable, and if they are homeless, once we are able to help them attain housing, we can provide them with basic needs. A portion of the sales enable us to help families financially, with assistance such as: rent, utilities and car repairs.

The food pantry and food outreach programs are run with the support of many churches, schools, businesses, local government, civic groups and individuals in the community who organize food drives and donate throughout the year. The pantry is supported by a large team of dedicated volunteers who run the daily operations and coordinate pick-ups.
We also partner with Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida and TEFAP, The Emergency Food Assistance Program. [More Info]
